I cannot imagine a “job” that I would enjoy more than what we do. But there are times that we enjoy it more than others. This is one of those times.
Because:
1. The groom-to-be, Matt, is Kevin’s cousin. And, he’s an awesome guy. (Love you, Matt!!)
2. They’re one of those achingly-in-love-beautiful couples. Really. I’ll comment more on that later.
They came to Gasport for this chilly outdoors session. We began with the railroad tracks:

And, every time I look at this image, I get a little misty-eyed. I love their snuggle in the background. It’s the perfect accompaniment to the sign, “Forever and always, no matter what.”
Am I just emotional, or does it hit you in the gut like it does me?
Because marriage isn’t viewed that way any more.
But it should be.
From the beginning.

My favorite wedding toast goes something like this, “I pray that you will look back on this day as the day you loved each other the least.”
Yes, Matt and Amber, as achingly in love as you are right now, Kevin and I extend that prayer to you. And let me make this clear right now: that kind of love takes work. But it’s worth it. Every time.
