]]> It was one of those off-and-on stormy days when we met Ryan and Rhiannon in Akron Park for their engagement shoot.  Rhiannon and I had talked several times on the phone preparing for this shoot and I was always struck by how sweet and bubbly she sounds.  In person, she is exactly the same.  We had a blast and time got away from us on this shoot!  Before we knew it, the sun was setting.

 He brought his guitar.  LOVE!!

This beautiful, artsy background is a wet tennis court.  Thankfully, Kevin spotted it and we stopped!

Pretty. Stinkin’. Adorable.  If you ask me.  ðŸ™‚

]]> Nick and Laura met us at Akron Park in the middle of October for their engagement session.  Meet this adorable couple with their adorable dog!

We began with a hike down to this old rock building.

Behind it is the lake, which made for a beautiful watercolor backdrop.

Isn’t she lovely?

And, their session wouldn’t have been complete without including their cute little Italian Greyhound, wearing their wedding date on a heart!

]]> Last night, just before a downpour came to our area, Kevin and I met Bill and Christie for their engagement session in Akron Park.  I’m so glad we did!!  Bill and Christie are gorgeous people.  And, they’re brave too.  Bill and I were both stalking the weather radar to see if we could make this shoot happen.  There was a hole in the clouds right over Akron, so we went for it!  

It is only with a stormy sky that we’re able to get images like this:

It turned out to be a wonderful time for an engagement session!

We’re so excited to photograph this beautiful couples’ wedding this fall!!  Check back at the end of October for their wedding images!

]]> Kevin and I met Shane and Sarah at Akron Park for their engagement shoot.  This is the type of couple that we would love to get together with even without cameras!  We spent as much time talking as we did photographing.  We’re always amazed at the great people we meet through photography!!

We photograph in Akron Park often, but we went off the beaten trail with Shane and Sarah!  For starters, we went to the old Cinderella carriage.

The spokes of the wheels became a cool setting for her engagement ring.

Even with all of the rain we’ve had, they were great sports to sit on the damp grass for some shots.  ðŸ™‚

Yes, they are as awesome in person as they look in photos!

Then, we walked to the falls, where the moody light gave us some beautiful images.

WooHoo!  All of this AND we get to photograph their upcoming wedding!!

]]> Joe and Tiffany came out to Akron Park this past Saturday for one of our last snowy sessions of the year (maybe?).

I was so glad to spend time with this fun-loving couple.  I always try to figure out a couples’ style on their engagement session, so that we can come prepared to their wedding.  And I can tell you right now – this is going to be one of those buckle-your-seat-belts-you’re-in-for-a-fun-crowd kind of weddings.  Well, guess what?  We just happen to DO fun! 
I also enjoyed this session for another reason.  This couple is amazing to pose.  Check out their many “faces.”

The post Todd + Rachael: couple session at Akron Park first appeared on Jennifer Allis Photography.

]]> Did you know that Akron Park hosts numerous high school cross-country meets every fall?  Me neither, until this past Saturday.  I arrived at 10am for an engagement session,  with plans to go home before my next session, at 3pm in the same place.  When I arrived, there were kids everywhere!  Cars filled normally empty parking lots.  I was drawn to the action.  After my first session, instead of going back home, I stayed and watched races.  There is something exhilarating about watching the heart of those kids tested.  I clapped, shouted, and encouraged as they ran by, muddy and focused.  I bought a bowl of chili, a cup of hot chocolate, and some homemade banana muffins from their booth.  Now, THAT is a fall Saturday!  The final race ended at 2:45, which gave me 15 minutes to warm up and gather my thoughts for Todd and Rachael’s session.  This is the result:
